  • Crystal clear waters

Five hot pools are at the heart of Tekapo Springs, each built to resemble the natural wonders of the lake beyond.   The crystal clear water is sourced from the surrounding alpine springs and heated with recyclable energy.

Based in the stunning Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve, and just a 15 minute walk from Lake Tekapo Village, it is also a wonderful place to enjoy the night sky.   Expert led star gazing tours offer the chance to learn about the Southern Hemisphere constellations from the heated springs.    Once star gazers are all settled in the hot pools, lights will be turned down to a soft glowing red with floating hammocks on offer to comfortably lie back and relax to continue to enjoy the Southern Night Sky.     Sally adds “This is great for anyone who is interested in the star gazing from the novice to the avid enthusiast. The really knowledgeable guides not only point out the seasonal major night sky features but also go into their significance for navigational and cultural purposes for European, Maori, Polynesian, Aboriginal and Greek cultures along with some wonderful stories thrown in for good measure.”

  • "You'll be in very good hands"

We visited New Zealand in March and still have not come down from the most wonderful trip which was beyond our expectations. Had to pass on our utmost thanks as we’ve had completely brilliant service from Paul who organised our much longed for holiday….From the moment I made the first enquiry I knew Paul was the perfect person to help plan our road trip. He is extremely knowledgeable and so friendly! After my initial email enquiry Paul called and spoke to me about our wish list for the places we wanted to visit, accommodation preferences and chatted about the things we like to do in general as far as hobbies and interests go…. I cannot recommend New Zealand in Depth highly enough if you’re looking for help with planning a trip. It’s a long way to go from the U.K. and you just know you’ll be in very good hands.    Deb & Pete Lord
