  • Explore the wilderness

    Minaret Station is a 50,000 acre high country working farm, home to 10,000 deer, 7,000 sheep and 1,000 cattle. Guests stay at one of the four Alpine Chalets each linked by raised wooden boardwalks to the central Alpine Lodge, which houses two seperate living areas, a well stocked library and cellar as well as first class dining facilities.

    Whilst here you can explore the wilderness of the South Island. Aside from the luxury accommodation, Minaret Station offers guided hiking, fly-fishing, heli-skiing and heli-hiking.

  • The Mountain Kitchen

    Central to the Alpine Lodge is the Mountain Kitchen. Linked to the chalets by a series of raised wooden boardwalks, the Mountain Kitchen features two separate living areas, wood-burning fires, a well stocked library, cellar and first class dining facilities.

    Food is central to the Minaret Station experience. The chefs use the freshest local ingredients, including lamb, beef and venison from their own 50,000 acre working farm, paired with an extensive range of fine New Zealand wines. Guests can choose to dine in the Mountain Kitchen’s dining room, alfresco on the deck or in the privacy of their own chalet.

  • Wanaka

     

    Wanaka is beautifully positioned on the shores of Lake Wanaka and is overlooked by the mountains of Mount Aspiring National Park.

    It is the perfect place to simply relax and enjoy the mountain scenery and there are also some superb day walks including a tramp up the West Matukituki Valley to Rob Roy Glacier.

    In the winter it is base camp for the Cardrona and Treble Cone ski areas which offer some of New Zealand’s best skiing and throughout the year it is the jumping off point for those wishing to explore the rugged and remote wilderness of Mount Aspiring National Park.

    To add variety, Wanaka is home to attractions as diverse as Puzzling World with its Great Maze and Illusion Rooms and Warbirds Over Wanaka, the largest collection of operational Second World War Aircraft in the Southern Hemisphere.
