Enthralling
Numerous action displays bring to life the enthralling sky battles of the Great War, including a one of a kind Caproni CA22, and iconic planes such as the Etrich Taube and the Fokker E.III Eindekker.
In addition to aircraft, there are numerous other artefacts from famous names including memorabilia of Manfred von Richthofen also known as the ‘Red Baron’ and one of the most feared German pilots in WWI.
The Dangerous Skies exhibition broadens the Omaka Experience taking visitors on to WW2. Like World War One’s Knights of the Sky, Dangerous Skies features mannequins made by Weta Workshop, and original, flyable static aircraft in larger-than-life dioramas, capturing specific snapshots in history.
The Omaka Heritage Trust is chaired by Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson, and Weta Workshop, the company which has brought to life the exhibitions, designed and made many of the props for the LOTR trilogy.
